Dia Batal

Born in Beirut 1978. Currently based in London.

Dia completed her design and art studies in Beirut before moving to London to do an MA in Design, Critical Practice at Goldsmiths College.

The multidisciplinary work she does is context specific and often enables audience to engage with it. She is interested in the way the design object functions as a device that has impact on people's lives within the public and private space, in relation to its social, cultural, and political concerns.

Her work has been shown in collective and solo exhibitions in Beirut, Manama, Amman, Paris, Liverpool and London. She has also worked on a number of community outreach projects for institutions such as British Museum, V&A, Iniva and The Mosaic Rooms amongst others.
